Why sign up to the Charter?

Registering for the digital School Swimming and Water Safety Charter gives you access to extensive online resources.

These can help and support you to develop a great school swimming experience for the pupils you teach, not just in the pool, but in the classroom too.

This includes access to a member area of the website only available to schools and lesson providers who have signed up to the School Swimming and Water Safety Charter.

It’s a national scheme developed specifically to meet the required outcomes of the national curriculum programme of study for physical education, covering both water safety and learning to swim.

Reward and recognition

Recognising the achievements of pupils is so important for their learning and will help them stay motivated.

A range of fun and colourful Award certificates are available to registered school members to download free of charge.

The School Swimming and Water Safety Awards link directly to the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework. This allows for a smooth transition from school swimming and water safety lessons to regular swimming lessons outside of school hours.

Keeping in touch

You’ll receive regular email communication from us, sharing best practice and up-to-date information about changes that may affect the national curriculum.

You’ll also get access to information on any school swimming specific events such as, School Swimathon, The Big School Swim and Swim Safe for schools campaigns as well as access to regular online discussion webinars to ask those burning questions is also part of the membership.
